Common Sense Economics 2015-2016

Modules 8, 9, 10, and 11 (i.e. Part 3) apply the 12 basic elements of economics to examine the political process, describe how it differs from the market process and highlight why these differences matter.

1. After completing Module 07, begin Module 08 by offering your first thoughts to one (1) of the questions in the next module.  No preparation is needed, and you automatically earn 2 points.
2. After completing Module 08, read through the pre-learning thoughts of your classmates and help a classmate in another group expand on those thoughts.  Earn up to an additional 8 points by using assigned materials to build out those pre-learning thoughts and arrive at a well-developed answer. Include page references from Common Sense Economics (2010) and a reference to an assigned video or podcast to support your work in order to earn full credit.

• Last names beginning with I-Q:  Would people be better off if voting was more widely used to determine what goods should be produced and consumed? Why or why not?
• Last names beginning with R-Z:  America would be more prosperous if businesses paid more taxes and individuals paid less. Indicate why you either agree or disagree with this statement.
