Do: Discussion Board Module 13 (Pre- and post-replies)

  1. After completing Module 12, begin Module 13 by offering your first thoughts to one (1) of the questions in the next module.  No preparation is needed, and you automatically earn 2 points.
  2. After completing Module 13, read through the pre-learning thoughts of your classmates. You now have two options.  Reply to your own pre-learning thoughts and add a personal experience to support your post-learning work or help a classmate expand on his or her pre-learning thoughts. Earn up to an additional 8 points by using assigned materials to provide post-learning answers that are reflective of sound economic reasoning.  Include page references from Common Sense Economics (2010) and a reference to an assigned video or podcast to support your work in order to earn full credit.
  3. The questions follow. (Please copy and paste the question into your reply.  It makes grading easier, thanks!)
  • Last names beginning with A-H: How can people get more out of their money?
  • Last names beginning with I-Q: Do credit cards help people achieve financial success? Why or why not?
  • Last names beginning with R-Z: Everyone faces "surprise” expenses. A hard drive can crash.  Your phone may get wet and stop working.  The brakes on your car may go.  You could even end up in the emergency room with a sudden, but curable, illness.  How should these "unexpected” expenses affect your financial planning?
